Children

Children often say things in their play rather than say it in words. My initial meetings with a child aim at discovering the child’s best means of expression, in words, or drawing or play. These means of expression can shift during treatment. The aim of working with the child is to help the child to voice their difficulty in the way they may not be able to say

I also meet with the child’s parents to understand their view of the problem, hear feedback about what the parents see in their child as the treatment progresses and assist the parent to hear their child and to respond to their child in a different way.
